The last day of May - WOW!

This week I have been following my gal pal Kristin of Camels & Chocolate around Paris as she navigates rain and pharmacy strikes while attempting to enjoy the French open. She has been shooting me emails as her schedule shifts so that I can give her real-time recos! Like this! Check out her stories to follow her adventures, she is headed to Lyon next to see Taylor Swift!

Look, because of the Olympics, there are A LOT of Paris guides out there, but when I read through them, they are very general articles without a lot of detail and no local knowledge. So be selective and choosey with the info you gather and validate with another source!

I also got a lovely message this week from tour guide extraordinaire Damien Hue. One of my readers saw my post on Damien and booked some tours with him in Normandy. He is the BEST and they are going to have such a good time!

I didn't do a lot of shopping last weekend, I was really happy with my new Orvis shirts (I bought these 3 but returned the red as it was more pink and 1 of these). I picked up a pair of classic Chucks in navy (my current pair are dead) and eyed this Croissant ring a lot, but still haven't pulled the trigger as I am not really a big jewelry person.

I just hit buy on this navy linen vest, this is something brough back from the 80s I actually like, I haven't waited for it to go on sale, but nope, so bought it anyway!

I also love all the linen at Quince and picked up a sundress and jacket for an outing next weekend.

People are going nuts for Diptyque's new candle scented like a Parisian cafe. It's a seasonal scent (pour quoi?) and this is the last week to get it! If you miss it, there is the new Chantilly which I actually prefer as a scent!

I love French patisseries, but one of my favorites features Japanese specialities. Sadaharu Aoki who has several locations across the City of Light does amazing things with matcha, mochi and more. I found this article coming out of Japan to be a good read, as I grew up in a Denny's family: Denny’s Japan teams up with Paris patissier for premium-price 50th anniversary sweets.

Frenchie Friday - Aug 30, 2024 After a 2 week break, the ParaOlympics have started in Paris so we all get to enjoy more scenes, articles, and news from Paris! I chatted with the folks from Hôtel Balzac Paris this week. They re-opened at the end of June in the 8th arrondissement and I am going to pay them a visit on my next trip. Are you influenced by Instagram? I totally am! This week I bought 2 of these beautiful Doppia Accent Rechargeable Table Lamps for outdoor dining because they looked...

Frenchie Friday on Saturday - Aug 24, 2024 Ouch! My company had a Recharge Day yesterday and I forgot to hit the send button on this email as I was too busy relaxing on my day off! Désolée! Everyone still loves Paris, probably even more so post-Olympics, as we get ready for fall, I am seeing lots of Paris in the background of catalogs and shopping sites. The latest I spotted was Ann Taylor Loft - their fall collection is set in Paris! Links I Love... Links to interesting stories found around...
